Probably the Biggest question we all have when we first start out in business is: "How Do I Know If My Business Is Going To Be A Success?"
Now obviously, there are many factors governing the success or failure of any individual or venture.
However, those of you that know me, know that I passionately believe your success is founded on two key principles: Marketing + Mindset.
When we are talking about Mindset, the key areas we need to know are Purpose + Passion.
… What is your Purpose? - Why are you doing what you are doing (Hint: It is never about the money!)
… What is your Passion? - What is you truly love to do. What 'lights your fire'? What are your biggest drivers?
Now the real key is to find the intersection – the point where you Purpose and your Passion meet - That is your "Sweetspot". Find that and you will have found your area of maximum Strength & Value.
… NOW you are standing at the gateway of your Success! …
Passion however, whilst a pre-requisite, is not enough to drive success. Passion simply means you will enjoy running your hobby. It does not mean you will be able to create a successful business. Without understanding the key principles of Marketing, your hobby may never make it into the marketplace…
So there you have it,
Here are the 4 Key Criteria you can use to evaluate how successful your business is likely to be:
1) Your Level of Desire In Your Topic
2) The Level of Demand In Your Market Place (Your Competition)
3) The Level of Emotion Driving your Buyers
4) Understanding & Conveying Your Unique Value (Your UVP – Unique Value Proposition)
Happy Marketing,

I just love the way you put this video together and gave us a check list. This equation you have given here is a secret to success. I enjoyed watching your video and your honesty you shared from your heart. The steps outlined made it so easy to understand. I hope people that are "stuck" in their business take this advice.

Hi Donna, thanks for your lovely words – spoken from the heart also. Take care

Mandy,
I agree with you. Building a successful business starts with mindset and marketing. The 4 keys you listed are great. I noticed when my desire goes down, so does my business. It is always great to do a check point. Sometimes desires change and you may have to make adjustments.
Thanks for laying out so simple. It is great to be reminded. Plus, like Donna said this will help all the people who are "stuck" in their business.

Hi Jaden, I do think the 2 subjects are interwoven into the fabric of all business success. Glad you agree
We all change as we grow, so adjustments are inevitable, the key is to be aware.
Thanks for stopping by to add value to the conversation. I appreciate your input

Hi Mandy
Great post, got me thinking about when I first started online.
My business has only grown as my desire and emotions surrounding it have grown, and that is still true today. In the beginning I thought I was doing lots for my business. As I look back today I realize I was just "playing".
I have really learned the importance of marketing as I have grown in the business. We wouldn't be anywhere without it. like a billboard in the middle of the desert.

Hi Carla, I appreciate your insights, thanks so much for taking the time to leave them. Love the analogy of a billboard in the middle of a desert. I think most of us exist on a ‘wish and a prayer’ when we first get started, then gradually those that survive the ‘heat’ develop something approaching a coherent marketing strategy. My job is to try and help folks arrive at the ‘oasis’ a little quicker!

Coming from someone who is only just starting my own business, I appreciated your insight. Your video was clear and understanding. My niche doesn’t fit into the most popular ones as you said, so I am figuring things out slowly that can push me in the right direction. But my passion is definitely there :0)

hey Yolanda, appreciate you taking the time to stop and leave a comment.
Sometimes is does take time and all you can do is let it unfold. If you’ve got the passion, the rest will follow. Sometimes you need to think outside the box or go back and look at everything you have ever done and find the common thread. Because there will be one. My own background was very bizarre and so it took me a very long time to be able to link it all together, but eventually I found it. Hope that helps
Take care
